1. Who We Are

2. What We Collect

Assessment submissions. When you complete an assessment on the site and ask for your result, you provide your first name, your email address, and your answers to the questions. We use this to prepare and send your result and to follow up if that would be helpful.

Website Visibility Check submissions. When you use the Website Visibility Check, you provide the website address you want checked and your email address. We fetch the public page at that address to run one technical check. We do not store the contents of that page.

Anonymous analytics. The site uses Vercel Analytics to understand how pages are used. It is cookieless. It does not use browser cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not track you across other websites.

3. What We Do Not Collect

Outside of the assessment and Visibility Check forms described above, we do not collect names, phone numbers, mailing addresses, payment information, or any other sensitive personal data through this site.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to send your result, to respond to you, and to send related follow up you have asked for. We use anonymous analytics to improve the content and structure of the site, never to identify individuals. We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on your consent for assessment and Visibility Check submissions and for any email we send you, and on our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used for anonymous analytics.

6. Service Providers

We use a small number of trusted providers that process data on our behalf:

• MailerLite delivers your result and any follow up emails and stores your first name and email for that purpose.
• Notion holds a private record of your submission so we can follow up with you.
• Upstash is used only to limit how often the Website Visibility Check can be run and to prevent abuse. It stores a temporary technical record, not your identity.
• Vercel Analytics collects anonymous, cookieless usage data.

Each provider processes data under its own terms and only as needed to provide its service to us.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data, and you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any email or by writing to hello@velvetrook.com. We will respond to verifiable requests within 30 days.

8. Data Retention

We keep your submission and email while we are in contact and you remain subscribed, and we remove them within 30 days of a deletion request. The temporary records used to rate limit the Visibility Check are short lived and expire on their own.

9. Cookies

This site does not use cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising.

10. Children's Privacy

This site is not directed to children under the age of 13.

11. International Visitors

We operate in the United States. If you visit from outside the United States, your information is processed in the United States.

12. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. We do not send notification emails about policy changes.
